Kentsel yığılma olgusu kentin tüm bölgelerinde gerçekleşse de, kentsel arkeolojik yığılma, zemin altındaki birikimle ilişkilidir. Kentsel boşluklar da bu yığılma ortamına ulaşılma potansiyeli taşıyan kent mekanlarıdır. Kentsel yığılma ve kentsel boşlukların korunması konuları, yalnızca koruma pratiğinin değil, korumanın düşünsel altyapısının da çalışma konusuna dahildir. Koruma söyleminin nesne merkezli bir anlayışa sahip olduğu varsayımı ile bu anlayışın neden olduğu koruma sorunları, makalenin temel problemini oluşturmaktadır. Makale kapsamında; korumada değişime tanınan tolerans, nesneler arası ilişkinin korunması, koruma aracılığıyla bilginin üretilmesi, korumanın toplumsal uzlaşıya dayandırılması gibi konular araştırılmaktadır.

The urban accumulation in all areas of the city is conducted as a case even though the archaeological urban agglomeration is associated with accumulation of ground below.
